Cowes Week Ladies Day

On International Women's Day we love to celebrate all things women and sailing!

At Anarchy Sailing we have a long tradition of participation at Ladies Day at Cowes Week. Since 2006, the Tuesday of Cowes Week has been the sailing community's own, unique take on a British sporting tradition; the Ladies Day.

Cowes Week Ladies Day

The day celebrates the contribution and achievement of women in sailing and recognizes some of the major successes of women in the sport.

Ladies Day makes special effort to acknowledge lady drivers and The Royal Southern Ariel Trophy is awarded to the female helm with the best results on Ladies Day. Remember, behind each helm is an equally talented team. As the great Dame Ellen Macarthur, a true pioneer in the sailing world says "a record is nothing if not shared. I'm proud of the record but I'm even more proud to be working with the best team in the world!"

As you can see at Anarchy Sailing we throw ourselves fully into the striped theme! Throughout the day there are special offers shore side for ladies and another prize-giving team stalks the shores looking for those in the most eye-catching outfit.

“She must find a boat and sail in it. No guarantee of shore. Only a conviction that what she wanted could exist, if she dared to find it.”
