Cowes Week 2021

As we all hold our breaths in readiness for events to start happening again, we're reminiscing on the magic of Cowes Week!

Cowes Week is one of the longest running and largest of its kind sailing regattas in the world! Traditionally held at the beginning of August, the event welcomes up to 1000 boats and 8000 competitors from all over the world for its 40 plus events.

The festival originates from the Prince Regent's interest in yachting which continued after he became George IV in 1820. The first race started at 09:30 on Thursday 10 August 1826 with the prize of a "Gold Cup of the value of £100".

Whilst Cowes Week may look a little different this year; the traditional fireworks have been cancelled and unfortunately the Red Arrows aren't available, the team behind the event are committed to ensure the regatta happens in some format. Indeed, this year they're hosting the inaugural Cowes Week opening party on 30th July 2021. More information about what you can expect from the post-Covid Cowes Week can be found here.

The Crew House is available for rental for the whole* of Cowes Week 2021, for more information or to book the property please visit our AirBnB portal.

(*short breaks not available during Cowes Week)

Whilst the last 15 months has certainly been challenging, we're hopeful that life begins to return to normal and we look forward to seeing you all at Cowes Week!
